The most important role of community health is turning local needs into action. Sometimes called population health, community health strengthens healthcare access, supports mental health awareness and builds strong healthcare partnerships that improve quality of life. Community health workers contribute by connecting individuals to services, providing education, coordinating care, advocating for patients and supporting prevention initiatives.

Georgia House Bill 321 requires nonprofit hospitals to disclose how they reinvest in their communities.
