Every individual deserves to live their final days with comfort, dignity and peace. Tanner Hospice Care offers in-home services to patients in Carroll, Coweta, Douglas, Haralson, Heard and Paulding counties, helping manage symptoms and promote comfort in familiar surroundings.

Tanner Hospice Care provides:

  • Respite care: Temporary in-hospital care to give families a break while patients continue receiving skilled support

Tanner Hospice Care is available to all patients, regardless of ability to pay. Services are supported through Medicare, Medicaid, most private insurance plans and community donations, ensuring that every patient can receive high-quality care based on need.

Our hospice team is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, providing round-the-clock care from skilled nurses, social workers and chaplains.

Who is eligible for Tanner Hospice Care?
Hospice care is available for individuals who:

  • Have approval from and continued participation of their attending physician
  • Have a life expectancy of six months or less
  • Are seeking comfort-focused care rather than curative treatment
  • Have a responsible person available to assist with care at home

When should Tanner Hospice Care be contacted?
Contact hospice as soon as a physician indicates a limited life expectancy. Early involvement allows our team to develop a personalized care plan, manage symptoms effectively, and build supportive relationships for both patients and families.

What if hospitalization is needed?
If a patient requires hospitalization, our hospice team continues to coordinate care. Once discharged, hospice services resume in the home, ensuring continuity of care and support for both the patient and family.

Who pays for Tanner Hospice Care?
Tanner Hospice Care is covered under most private insurance plans, Medicare and Medicaid in Georgia. Additionally, private donations and community support allows hospice to provide care based on need rather than ability to pay. Patients and families are never billed directly for hospice services
