Mako Robotic-arm Assisted Surgery System

For certain hip and knee replacement procedures, surgeons at Tanner Orthopedics may use the Mako Robotic-Arm Assisted Surgery System. Mako is an advanced technology designed to enhance precision during joint replacement surgery.

What is Mako?

Mako is an advanced surgical system that uses CT-based 3-D modeling and virtual planning technology to support precise implant placement during hip and knee replacement surgery.

Before surgery, your orthopedic surgeon creates a personalized surgical plan based on your unique anatomy. During the procedure, the Mako system provides real-time guidance to help your surgeon execute that plan with accuracy.

This technology helps surgeons personalize the procedure to each patient and supports precision in implant positioning and joint alignment. Not every patient is a candidate for Mako-assisted surgery, and your orthopedic surgeon will determine the approach that is right for you. This approach is designed to support consistent outcomes, improved joint alignment and a smoother recovery.
