Tanner Health Blessing Boxes

Tanner Health Blessing Boxes

As a community hospital system serving west Georgia and east Alabama, we know our care extends beyond the hospital walls. The Tanner Health Blessing Boxes provide access to nonperishable items for those in need. Anyone may donate items, and anyone may take what they need.

What is the Blessing Box?

The nursing shared governance team at each Tanner Health hospital worked to create a Blessing Box for each hospital campus. It provides food and hygiene items that may not be readily available to those in need. Anyone may donate or take items. The boxes are accessible 24/7.

Where are the boxes located?

Tanner Medical Center/East Alabama
1032 Main Street
Wedowee, AL 3627

The Blessing Box is located near the parking lot entrance of the Tanner East Alabama medical office building.

More locations will be added across west Georgia in the coming months.

What should I donate?

Suggested donations include non-perishable grocery items, personal hygiene products, paper products, baby items (baby food, diapers, lotion, soap, wipes) and kid-friendly items (crayons, coloring books, pencils, school supplies). Please ensure all donated items are not expired, dented or damaged.

During the summer months, due to the hot temperatures, we ask that you only donate dry good, personal hygiene products, paper products, and kid-friendly items. Please view the graphics below for a full list of suggestions and best practices.
