Minimally invasive hysterectomy - Ryan Davis, MD

Minimally invasive hysterectomy is suggested for women with chronic pelvic pain or heavy abnormal menstrual bleeding not alleviated by hormone replacement therapy. Dr. Davis, a board-certified OB/GYN specialist with Tanner Healthcare for Women, says hysterectomy is a lest resort but provides many women the relief they need. The procedure involves four small incisions, with or without a surgical robot. Patients usually go home the same day or the next, with a 3-5 day recovery period followed by restricted lifting for 3-5 weeks. Watch the video to learn more.
