What is pulmonary rehabilitation?
Pulmonary rehabilitation is a specialized program designed to improve lung function and overall respiratory health through exercise, education and support.

How do I know if I need pulmonary rehab?
If you experience chronic breathing difficulties or have been diagnosed with a lung condition such as COPD, consult your physician to see if pulmonary rehab is right for you.

What should I bring to my first appointment?
Please bring your referral, recent pulmonary function test results and a summary of your medical history and physical examination.

What does the program entail?

At Tanner Health, our comprehensive pulmonary rehab program maximizes your current lung function. Most participants begin with 16 sessions, engaging in exercises twice a week.

Monitored & supervised exercise

Our team creates a personalized physical activity plan, approved by your physician, to effectively boost your stamina and muscle strength.

Education about your care

We provide essential education on practical techniques, including breathing retraining, inhaler use, oxygen therapy and the importance of diet and weight management.

Scheduling pulmonary rehab

Starting pulmonary rehab requires a physician's order. 

Please ensure we receive:
  • A referral from your primary care physician or pulmonologist
  •  Your pulmonary function test (PFT) results from the past year
  •  A confirmed diagnosis of COPD, bronchiectasis or pulmonary fibrosis
  •  A recent history and physical examination from the last 90 day
