How to get started with care

Taking the first step toward better mental health starts here. To ensure you receive the highest level of expert, personalized care, all new patients begin with an in-person assessment at   Willowbrooke Urgent Care for Mental Health and Substance Use in Villa Rica.

If you are experiencing an overdose, bodily injury, chest pain, difficulty breathing or life-threatening emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest hospital emergency department immediately. For immediate help with suicidal thoughts call 988.

Personalized care

A free, confidential mental health or substance use screening is the first step in determining the level of care you need. Following your screening, our psychiatrist-led team of counselors and therapists will work with you to develop a personalized treatment and recovery plan.

Our team offers specialized behavioral health programs designed to meet the diverse needs of our community, including:

• Psychiatric Care for Cancer Patients — support for patients, caregivers and families coping with the emotional impact of illness
• Telehealth for College Students— virtual therapy and medication management for students balancing academics and mental wellness
• Healthcare Professionals Support Program — confidential care for professionals managing stress, burnout and compassion fatigue
• Neuropsychiatric Care — treatment for individuals recovering from traumatic brain or spinal-cord injuries
• Women’s Services  — mental health care for women facing postpartum depression and anxiety, perinatal mood disorders, trauma recovery, menopause-related mood changes or co-occurring substance use concerns

Located in Villa Rica, a central location that is convenient for area residents, it is also close to Tanner Medical Center/Villa Rica in case of an emergency.

Designed to be adaptable to care for patients of all ages, our inpatient facility currently has a total of 92 beds, with 72 beds available for adults, including a dedicated young adult unit for ages 18 to 25. (A separate 20-bed unit provides specialized care for adolescents ages 12 to 17.)

In addition to specialized patient rooms, facility amenities include indoor and outdoor courtyards for rest and relaxation, a courtyard with a koi pond, indoor and outdoor dining options, a half-court indoor gymnasium with a climbing wall, special spaces for expressive and group therapy and more.

Our inpatient facility is a short-stay hospital — not a residential facility. The average length of time spent in inpatient treatment is less than seven days on average.
