Some patients require medication to be delivered intravenously instead of orally. The medication(s) are administered using a sterile catheter inserted into a vein and secured. This is called infusion therapy.

What is an infusion center?

An infusion center is an outpatient clinic that administers infusion therapy. These facilities have advanced infusion equipment, special and very comfortable furnishings for patients and staff who specialize in infusions.
